Pultruded Grating

Our Pultruded Grating is a Fibreglass Reinforced Polymer (FRP) system engineered for applications requiring longer spans, higher load capacity and enhanced directional strength. Unlike moulded grating, pultruded grating utilises high-strength structural load bars running in a single direction, delivering improved spanning performance and reduced deflection under load.
Combining excellent corrosion resistance, slip resistance and strength-to-weight performance, it provides a durable, low-maintenance access solution for industrial, marine and infrastructure environments. Commonly specified for walkways, elevated platforms, service platforms, trench covers and solar farm access systems, Pultruded Grating is designed for applications where structural efficiency, long spans and long-term durability are key considerations.

Surfaces & Finishes

Our Surface Systems

Pultruded grating utilises precision-manufactured load bars produced through a continuous pultrusion process. Depending on the application requirements, pultruded grating can be supplied with an integral ribbed surface profile or enhanced with one of our bonded CARBIXTM anti-slip surface systems. Cover Top variants are also available with a moulded diamond-top profile or bonded grit surfaces.

Developed through years of real-world industrial application and refinement, our surface systems are designed to balance slip resistance, wear life, drainage performance and long-term durability.

Open Pultruded Grating

  • Integral Ribbed Surface

An integral ribbed surface profile formed during the pultrusion process. The continuous ribbed texture provides light underfoot grip without the use of bonded grit and is commonly selected where drainage, ease of cleaning and general pedestrian access are prioritised.

  • CARBIXTM Fine Grit

Applied directly to the pultruded load bars, CARBIXTM Fine Grit uses controlled grit grading and bonding technology to create a refined anti-slip surface with a smoother underfoot feel. Designed to enhance traction while maintaining comfort in pedestrian-focused, commercial and general access environments. Typical grit sizes are approximately 125-210 μm (similar to P120-P80 abrasive media), making it well suited to walkways, access platforms and other environments where underfoot comfort and slip resistance must be balanced.

  • CARBIXTM Medium Grit

Applied directly to the pultruded load bars, CARBIXTM Medium Grit is our standard industrial anti-slip surface system. Developed to maximise grit retention, wear life and long-term traction performance in demanding outdoor and industrial environments while maintaining practical cleanability and drainage characteristics. Typical grit sizes are approximately 600 μm (similar to P40 abrasive media), making it a trusted choice for processing plants, infrastructure, workshops and other high-traffic environments where dependable slip resistance is required.

Pultruded Cover Top

  • Diamond Top

A moulded raised-pattern surface designed to provide additional underfoot texture without the use of bonded grit. Commonly selected where moderate slip resistance, durability and ease of cleaning are required while maintaining a fully enclosed walking surface.

  • CARBIXTM Fine Grit

Applied directly to the Cover Top surface, CARBIXTM Fine Grit uses controlled grit grading and bonding technology to create a refined anti-slip surface with a smoother underfoot feel.

Applied directly to the Cover Top surface, CARBIXTM Medium Grit is our standard industrial anti-slip surface system and the most commonly specified surface for pultruded Cover Top grating. Developed to maximise grit retention, wear life and long-term traction performance in demanding outdoor and industrial environments. Typical grit sizes are approximately 600 μm (similar to P40 abrasive media), making it a trusted choice for processing plants, infrastructure, workshops and other high-traffic environments where dependable slip resistance is required.
