Case Study:

Walkway at Public Reserve

Challenge

The client had to address a problematic area along a tidal creek just three weeks before the busy summer holiday period began. The pedestrian path was often wet and boggy, leading to maintenance problems and safety concerns for walkers, including those with prams, wheelchairs, and bikes.

Solution

To solve this issue, we recommended our FRP mini mesh grating, which is ideal for waterside environments. The grating would “float over” a 30-metre section of the walkway, providing a stable and reliable surface. It is hard-wearing, slip-resistant, and will not rot or leach harmful chemicals into the water.

Outcome

The new walkway path was installed within the deadline, providing durability and safety for pedestrians with prams, wheelchairs, and bikes over the tidal creek. The client was pleased with the rapid turnaround and the long-term benefits of the grating, ensuring a safe and maintenance-free solution for the public reserve.
